Context

DEC-0035 locked the unified result surface and locked-AI upgrade entry pattern. Product still needed one explicit rule for package options shown in upgrade popup and fast-path behavior into checkout.

Decision

Feature-based offer set:

• If locked feature can be unlocked by Pro:
  • popup shows both Pro and Pro Max options.
  • system waits for user to explicitly choose one option before moving to next checkout step.
• If locked feature requires Pro Max:
  • popup shows only Pro Max.

Fast-path entry:

• Upgrade flow should continue directly to next checkout step without unnecessary waiting.

Decision Value

• Keeps offer relevance high by matching options to feature requirement.
• Reduces friction in high-intent upgrade moments with fast-path checkout behavior.
• Avoids showing impossible package options for premium-only features.

Rationale

Feature-dependent package visibility is clearer for users and easier to scale than one fixed offer set for all locked contexts.
