DEC-0006 - Optional onboarding goal with program guardrails

Context

Need goal setting to personalize progress without increasing signup friction.

Decision

• Goal selection appears in first onboarding.
• On first registration completion, user is routed to Home and receives onboarding goal question as a popup on Home.
• Goal is optional; user can skip.
• If user has not answered goal question yet, do not show it every login.
• Re-ask cadence for unanswered goal question: once per 7 days.
• Weekly re-ask continues until user answers or explicitly skips.
• Weekly re-ask appears as popup only.
• If no goal:
  • target comparison is hidden/unavailable,
  • non-target analytics still visible.
• Users can update goal later in settings/profile.
• Goal selector guardrails per program:
  • hard max target (example IELTS max 9.0),
  • min target,
  • fixed step size.

Goal encouragement

• profile completion pattern,
• subtle profile attention marker,
• one-time achievement badge when goal is first set,
• goal reminder in practice management.

Goal update feedback

• Quick popover confirmation: “Muc tieu cua ban da duoc thay doi.”
